The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP) will deliver a keynote address at the SADC-India LPG Summit at Montecasino, Johannesburg, on Thursday 28 September 2023.

The three-day summit seeks to facilitate the exchange of information, expertise, and experiences from India, with the goal of propelling LPG growth in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. It is a platform through which the South African government intends to gain more knowledge and insight that will boost the implementation of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Rollout Strategy. 

Gazetted for implementation in 2022, the South African LPG Rollout Strategy provides a framework for the expansion of the use of LPG with an emphasis on the household sector. It also seeks to ensure optimal contribution of LPG in addressing the country's electricity supply challenges.
