South Africa, through the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, will host the 8th annual meeting of BRICS Energy Ministers on 18 August 2023, in Johannesburg.

The BRICS Energy Ministers’ meeting is a platform for deliberations on pertinent matters, programmes and initiatives that seek to promote cooperation, growth and sustainable development of the member states’ energy sector. It forms part of the build up to the 15^th BRICS Summit set to take place from 22 – 24 August 2023 in Johannesburg under the theme: “BRICS and Africa: Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development and Inclusive Multilateralism.”

The BRICS Energy Ministers’ meeting will be preceded by the 2^ndsenior officials meeting on energy, taking place on 16 and 17 August 2023.
