The Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Dr Nobuhle Nkabane will inspect an electrification project at Cube and Hoyana villages and handover a Groundwater Supply and Reticulation project at Intsika Yethu Local Municipality on 9 August 2023.

The Groundwater Supply and Reticulation project is a Social and Labour Plan project implemented by Mlambo Investments Holdings (Pty) Ltd Mining Company, while the electrification project was implemented through the government’s Integrated National Electrification Programme (INEP). 

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy implements the Social and Labour Plan (SLP) Programme to enhance the quality of life in mining communities and to ensure that holders of Mining Rights and Production Rights contribute towards the socio-economic development of the areas in which they are operating as provided for in the Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA).
