The Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Dr Nobuhle Nkabane (MP) will host a Mining and Energy Imbizo at Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality, Kwa-Zulu Natal, on Saturday 18 March 2023.
The Imbizo will focus on addressing the Mining and Energy related issues affecting the community of Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality, and the affected mining companies in the area. This is in line with the President Cyril Ramaphosa’s call to set a path of creating strong District Development Model (DDM) Intergovernmental Teams that will work in unison to improve the lives of our communities in each district.
It is through efforts such as the planned Community Imbizo that government will enhance the implementation of the District Development Model, whilst facilitating urgent responses and actions at the District and local levels.
Dr Nkabane will be joined by the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dlomo; Deputy Minister of Performance, Monitorin1g and Evaluation Ms Pinky Kekana; Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, Ms Boitumelo Moloi, Executive Mayor of Harry Gwala District Municipality; Cllr ZD Nxumalo and Mayor of Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality; Cllr EB Ngubo.
