The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP), will this Friday, 05 August 2022, handover a state-of-the-art combined Waterkloof Hills School to the Ministry of Basic Education under the leadership of Mrs Angie Motshekga.
Built by the Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) in partnership with the North-West Department of Education (NWDoE), the school has a total capacity of 2 155 learners. The Primary School can accommodate 1 280 leaners, whereas the Secondary School can accommodate 875 leaners.
The Royal Bafokeng Platinum’s contribution in the construction of the school forms part of the company’s Social and Labour Plan (SLP) as espoused in the Mining Charter. The Charter seeks to facilitate sustainable transformation, growth, and development of the mining industry.
Dignitaries expected to attend the programme include, Premier of the North West Province; Mr Bushy Maape, the MEC of NWDoE; Ms Mmaphefo Matsemela, RBPlat CEO; Mr Steve Phiri, Traditional leaders, senior government officials, senior officials of RBPlat, Teachers, Community members and Learners.
