The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP) will, on Friday, 10 June 2022, lead a delegation of the DMRE in a meeting with the Kingdom of the Western Thembu (AbaThembu BaseRhoda).

The meeting forms part of the ongoing Ministerial engagements with Traditional Leaders in the Eastern Cape aimed at providing clarity and crafting solutions to the challenges experienced in the development of the Upstream Petroleum Industry. This follows successful engagements with at least six (6) other traditional councils in the province.
