The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr. Gwede Mantashe (MP) will on Tuesday, 01 February 2022, engage with the Chief Executive Officers of coal mining companies operating in South Africa.

The engagement will focus on the challenges facing the coal sector, at both micro and macro level, with an aim of ensuring industry growth and sustainability. Delegates will further engage on the mining sector’s contribution to the country’s economic reconstruction and recovery plan and describe the sector’s contribution to the just energy transition from high to low carbon economy.
