The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy in collaboration with the Limpopo Provincial Government will host a two-day Provincial Mining Investment Conference in Polokwane, Limpopo. The hybrid conference to be held under the theme “Growing a globally competitive and transformed mineral and energy resources sector” will bring together various stakeholders in the mining industry, including government, captains of the mining industry, and State-Owned Enterprises. 

Delegates at the Conference are expected to rigorously deliberate on the diverse investment opportunities in the mining industry. The Conference will further highlight and promote key junior mining projects in the province.

The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP) is expected to deliver the keynote address at the Conference. The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Stanley Mathabatha; and the MEC of Economic Development, Environment & Tourism, Mr T Mokone are also expected to address and engage with the delegates at the Conference.

Thematic areas of discussion will include the current and future investment climate for junior and emerging miners, including any investment limitations that exist for them in the industry. Delegates are expected to develop strategies to overcome identified challenges. The engagements will further highlight the unique provincial minerals and mining offering of the province and will share information on the commodities attracting the most exploration and development funding.
