The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe (MP), will on Saturday, 17 April 2021 conduct an Electrification Project Inspection in Mthatha West, Maiden Farm and Bongweni, King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality, in the Eastern Cape Province. Electrification Project Inspections are part of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s (DMRE) Integrated National Electrification Programme (INEP) which is aims to actively contribute towards sustainable development and economic growth through universal access to electrification in the country. The Department has electrified 1100 houses in Mthatha West, Maiden Farm and Bongweni.

Minister Mantashe is expected to be joined by members of the Eastern Cape Provincial Executive, District and Local Mayors, Traditional Leaders, Community leaders and Senior Officials of the DMRE.
