The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe will on Thursday, 05 November 2020, visit the Qamata Thembisile Hani Integrated Energy Centre (IeC) in Qamata, Intsika Yethu Local Municipality (Cofimvaba), Eastern Cape.

The IeC programme was initiated by the then Department of Energy to increase access to affordable energy services to disadvantaged communities, stimulate economic development, and contribute to job creation.

Constructed by PetroSA, the IeC will be owned and managed by a Co-operative, of which its members were recruited from the community of Qamata and surrounding areas.
