BURSARY OPPORTUNITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF MINERAL RESOURCES - 2018

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) is facilitating full time bursaries for the academic year 2020. The bursary is targeting eligible South African female scholars from disadvantaged social backgrounds currently doing or have completed grade 12. The bursary recipients should be studying towards mining related fields preferably in the following disciplines:

  • Chemical Engineering (Mineral Processing)
  • Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
  • Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Environmental Health and Management
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering (Extractive)
  • Mining Engineering
  • Mining Survey

Remuneration: The interns will receive a minimum stipend of R4 770. 00 per month.

Submit your certified latest documents quoting the reference number as stated above.

Requirements: Unemployed South African Graduates with a tertiary qualification in one of the above-mentioned fields of study and who have not been previously employed under any internship programme are invited to apply. Applicants should not be above the age of 35 years. Applications must be submitted on a fully completed Z83 form obtained from any Public Service Department, stating the field for which is applying (from the above list), reference number and province for placement, and attach a recent updated CV, as well as originally certified copies of matriculation certificate, qualification(s) certificate with academic transcripts (record), N6 certificate, 3 year qualification and above, and ID not longer than three months. Candidates wish to apply for internship/experiential learning outside their respective regions must be willing and able to find their own transportation and accommodation considering that they will not earn a salary, but only a stipend.

Duration: Successful candidates will be appointed on a 24 months contract, from 01 April 2019 to 31 March 2021. The person appointed will be subject to a security clearance.
