DOWNSCALING OR LARGE SCALE RETRENCHMENT

In terms of Section 52 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resource Development Act, 2002 (Act No. 28 of 2002), the holder of a mining right must notify the Minerals and Mining Development Board of any possible downscaling of mining operations or of large scale retrenchments that may take place.

Claims in respect of expropriated property

Please note that claims in terms of Item 12 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act must be lodged at the office of the Regional Manager in whose region the expropriated property is situated and in the prescribed manner as per regulations R.1288 of 29 October 2004 and R.1203 of 30 November 2006 respectively.
